Webb posted the following announcement: “After much thought, I decided to go out there and finally feel comfortable reclaiming my true authentic self. It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman, and not just as a woman, but as a woman of color. I think that would also make me gay/lesbian, since I am attracted to women.”.
On April 25, at a state council meeting, Webb was heavily criticized for the move. Even critics pointed out that Webb is hypocritical and “His words embarrass not only him, but also you, the district council”.
The students of “Actions on Demand” from the Burris Laboratory School participated in the meeting. Six female students took the podium and demanded Webb’s resignation, with one of them saying that people like Webb make it hard to tell which one is one of them.
After eight speakers criticized Webb, he was given a chance to respond. She said that his gender sentiment is non-negotiable.
“To clarify, I have never claimed to be transgender,” she said. – I just expressed my gender identity… I am absolutely serious. I’m not kidding. I said what I said. I do not know what to tell you. You can’t ask me for proof. You were part of a movement that helped set these rules and set the standard, okay? . You can’t question how I identify.”
Webb later told reporters that the people who spoke out against him had a right to voice their concerns. But he said that he wanted them to step back and realize that “perpetuate hatred, intolerance and fanaticism towards me”. “This is just another example of the intolerance of the left and their conflicting ideology”– he said.
Remember that Webb’s critics believe that if a boy picks up a doll or doesn’t protest wearing a dress, it means that it is a girl and should be castrated.
