Queen Letizia of Spain will travel to Colombia in June to learn about and support the projects that Spain is implementing in the South American country, the EFE news agency reported on May 3.
The King of Spain Felipe VI announced the Queen’s trip during a speech he delivered at a gala dinner held at the Royal Palace in Madrid for Colombian President Gustavo Petro and his wife Verónica Alcocer on the occasion of their state visit to Spain.
“Queen Letizia, in her continued commitment and support for Spanish cooperation, will soon travel to Colombia to learn about and support some of our programs in situ, and will witness the great call for solidarity of the Spanish people, which Colombia knows well”, – said the king.
The trip, which according to the news is scheduled for this month of June, will be very similar to Letizia’s trip to Paraguay in November 2021 or to Mauritania in June 2022, where she had the opportunity to learn about the work of Spanish cooperation in governance and gender equality, rural development and food security, as well as health care, the newspaper writes.
Let us remember that the next visit of the Queen of Spain to Colombia will be the third visit of Queen Leticia to this country in recent years. She set foot on Colombian soil for the first time in November 2015, when she was still Princess of Asturias. The second trip she made in 2018 already as queen consort of Spain.
In both cases, according to the Spanish press, the Queen of Spain was interested in supporting the education and training of young people and women entrepreneurs.
