The Kristall boarding house and the Volna sanatorium in the Khostinsky district of Sochi will open in 2024, the press service of the city administration reports on May 4.
The head of Sochi, Alexei Kopaygorodsky, visited the territory of the Kristall boarding house and checked the progress of work at the facility.
“In the Year of Architecture in Sochi, two iconic health resorts are being restored at once in the Khostinsky district. It is important to us that, along with the preservation of history, iconic objects are given a second life, provide new jobs, income to the budget, and provide high-quality recreation and improved health in the country’s leading seaside resort.”– said Kopaygorodsky.
It is noted that work on two sites is planned to be completed in 2024.
As part of the Kristall pension restoration and modernization project, an additional building with a capacity of 405 rooms, with a medical center, is being built.
The boarding house will become part of a single sanatorium and medical complex with the Volna sanatorium, the reconstruction of which provides for the preservation of a cultural heritage site of regional importance – the palace and park ensemble of the sanatorium, built in 1949-1964, and the construction of a new building with a capacity for 341 rooms.
