Six residents of the city of Pevek, who have the right to drive vehicles, suffer from mental disorders. This was established after the results of a prosecutor’s check in the Chaunsky district of Chukotka on May 4, the press service of the district prosecutor’s office reported.
“Driving by people with mental disorders creates a real threat to road safety, can lead to traffic accidents and cause damage to the life and health of road users,” the report says.
As a result of the audit, the Chaunsky District Prosecutor’s Office sent six lawsuits to the court for the termination of the right to drive vehicles. The Chaunsky District Court complied with the requirements of the prosecutor’s office, such persons were obliged to hand over their driving licenses to the issuing authority.
It should be noted that the execution of court decisions is controlled by the district attorney’s office.
