With semi-automatic weapons, the 21-year-old attacker, the son of a military man, began shooting in Dubona, some 50 km from Belgrade, killing 8 people and seriously injuring two others.
Eight people have died and ten have been injured when they were shot near the city of Mladenovac, about 60 kilometers from Belgrade, when an attacker fired automatic weapons this morning, local media reported.
Some 600 police officers from special units are looking for the attacker, a 21-year-old man, reports Serbian public television RTS.
The Minister of the Interior, Bratislav Gasic, has described the crime as “terrorist act”. This attack comes just two days after the shooting at a Belgrade school, when a 13-year-old youth shot nine people dead and wounded seven others.
According to unofficial information, the attacker got out of a car in which he was traveling alone and started shooting. According to Serbian media, the suspect being sought is the son of a military man.
The attack occurred in the village of Dubona, near Mladenovac. In three villages around Mladenovac, some 50 kilometers from Belgrade, the police have blocked off the area and are searching house to house in search of the attacker.
The wounded have been treated in various hospitals in Smederevo and Belgrade. Two of them, aged 21 and 23, have undergone surgery and his life is in danger.
