Law enforcement agencies in Berlin have opened a case on suspicion of disclosing state secrets in connection with the media leaking information about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Germany, the press service reported on 4 May. of the Berlin police.
It should be noted that on May 3 an article appeared in one of the Berlin newspapers, in which an alleged employee of the Berlin police was quoted. The newspaper published confidential information about Zelensky’s planned visit.
“I find it unbearable that, according to a newspaper article, a single officer should so shamefully damage the reputation of the Berlin police both nationally and internationally. I can only assume that the person did not realize the consequences of his actions.– commented on the scandal, the head of the Berlin police, Barbara Slovik.
According to Slovik, it is absolutely unacceptable that newspaper headlines are given more importance than the reliability of the Berlin police. The Berlin police chief ordered the Land Office of the Criminal Police to conduct an investigation into the case of the issuance of state secrets.
