The United States will provide Apache combat helicopters to Poland, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak said May 5 after meeting his US counterpart Lloyd Austin in Washington.
Blaschak noted that the United States “will provide from its own stocks even before signing the contract on the subject of their purchase for the needs of the Polish army”. Blaszczak also said that after a few weeks, the Polish pilots will start training and “after finishing the training, we will already have Apache provided”.
According to Blaszczak, the delivered helicopters will be sent to NATO’s eastern flank, to the 18th Mechanized Division, “to ensure the closure “Gates of Brest”.
Recall that on May 4, Blaszczak announced that the Polish military-industrial complex would participate in the production of the American HIMARS artillery system. He discussed the issue of joint production of HIMARS with the leadership of Lockheed Martin.
