In a visible display of diplomatic camaraderie, President Abdul Latif Rashid, accompanied by the First Lady and a delegation of ministers, arrived in the UK to attend King Charles III’s coronation ceremony, Shafaq News reported on May 5.
A statement issued by the Office of the President explained that Lord Robert Lofven, acting as the representative of the British monarch, cordially received the president at the airport.
The statement also clarifies that President Rashid’s visit, which responds to an official invitation, includes the presence of First Lady Shahnaz Ibrahim Ahmed and the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Fakak Al-Badran.
Let’s remember that the coronation of the new king of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the kingdoms of the Commonwealth, Carlos III, will take place on May 6 in Westminster Abbey. The last time a British monarch was crowned was on June 2, 1953, when Elizabeth II ascended the throne.
