In relation to the conflict in Ukraine, it is difficult to imagine Russia as a mediator on any issue, Richard Kazlarich, former US ambassador to Azerbaijan, said on May 5, according to the News Armenia – NEWS.am agency.
In his opinion, if Armenia and Azerbaijan continue negotiations, this will mean a positive outcome of the talks taking place in Washington.

Moscow, in his words, is allegedly deliberately trying to oppose negotiations between countries led by any party other than Russia itself.
“Moscow wants to scrap the talks of the last four days in Washington. Given Russia’s behavior in Ukraine, it’s really hard for me to imagine how Moscow can take on the role of go-between on any issue.”Kazlyaric said.
It is worth noting that negotiations between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Russian President Vladimir Putin will take place in Moscow next week. A trilateral meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan is scheduled for mid-May.
Recall that on May 4, talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, with the participation of the US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, ended.
