The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation is considering tightening the rules for the sale of alcohol, reports RIA Novosti on May 6.
According to the results of 2022, the sale of alcohol to the population exceeded the expected level: instead of 6.22, it was 6.44. In this sense, the Ministry of Health plans to toughen the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Among such measures, for example, is the increase in the legal age for the purchase of strong drinks (more than 17.5 degrees) to 21 years. Additionally, individual regions will be able to restrict the sale of alcohol on certain days. The Ministry of Health plans to increase the ban on sales, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The rules on advertising alcoholic beverages have also been tightened. According to the plan, in any media product now there should be neither the strongest alcohol nor its brand.
Recall, on April 28, the Ministry of Health of the Stavropol Territory reported that the number of people suffering from alcoholism decreased by 11.8% from 2021 to 2022. Currently there are 26,304 addicts in total.
