Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s request to dismiss 121 criminal cases against him will be considered by a five-judge panel of the Lahore High Court on May 8, ARY News reported on May 6.
It is reported that the court admitted this request for processing and has already requested information on the progress of the investigation in all the cases indicated in it through the corresponding dependencies.
Remember that the politician’s statement says that all the listed cases are based on false testimonies and data, and are also fabricated for political reasons.
He urged the court to bar the registration of new illegal cases against him, and also named several Pakistani officials and departments as defendants, including the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Pakistan Election Commission, the Pakistani state and the government. of Punjab, as well as Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others.
It should be noted that on May 6, an Islamabad court dropped the illegal income charges against Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the case of buying and reselling Pakistani treasury gifts, acknowledging the claims of the National Accountability Office (NBO ) against the politician and his wife as incompetent.
It should also be noted that around 140 criminal cases were registered against Imran Khan in various regions of Pakistan on charges of terrorism, incitement and hatred, property damage, treason and other serious crimes. Most of the cases have been filed in the past three months, but so far none of them have resulted in Khan’s arrest or detention.
