British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has called the coronation of Charles III a moment of national pride, the Prime Minister’s Office said May 6.
“The coronation of King Carlos III and Queen Camila will be a moment of exceptional national pride. Together with friends from across the Commonwealth and beyond, we will celebrate the enduring nature of our great monarchy: its permanence, devotion to duty and service to others.”Sunak said, noting that “No other country could put on such a dazzling spectacle: processions, performances, ceremonies and street festivities.”
According to Sunak, the coronation ceremony is not just a show, but “a treasured ritual through which a new age is born.”
So let’s celebrate this weekend with pride in who we are and what we stand for. Let’s look to the future with hope and optimism. And create new memories so we can tell our grandchildren about the day we came together to sing ‘God Save the King’.”concluded the Prime Minister.
