None of Malaysia’s federal MPs from the Barisan Nasional coalition will vacate their seats to undermine the stability of the country’s government, Deputy Prime Minister and head of this political coalition, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, said on May 6, the Malay Mail reported.
The coalition leader said he had carried out his own investigation to ensure that rumors about the alleged intentions of several deputies from his coalition to leave parliament in order to undermine the legitimacy of the current government.
“Although I heard (rumours) that some wanted to destabilize the Madani government by firing 13 and then 15 people, the fact is that my own investigations show that none will move from their place”Zahid said.
Remember, Barisan Nasional is a political coalition that lost power to the Pakatan Harapan coalition in November 2022 general election. However, since the victorious opposition failed to win a simple majority in parliament, it took the former opponents into a political alliance and created the so-called Unity government. As a result, Pakatan Harapan chief Anwar Ibrahim took over as head of government, and Barisan Nasional leader Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received the post of deputy from him.
