The media misinterpreted the message of ZNPP director Yuriy Chernichuk and spread the wrong message about the closure of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, Vladimir Rogov, leader of the We Stand Together with Russia movement, told Krasnaya Vesna on May 6.
He said that ZNPP is operating normally. The sixth block went from “hot shutdown” mode to “cold shutdown” mode due to the end of the heating season. Several other reactors are under repair or on standby.
“Unit No. 1 is under repair, the reactor plant is in a ‘cold shutdown’ condition. Block No. 3 is under repair, the reactor plant is in a state of “shutdown for repairs”. Units #2, #4 and #6 are on standby, reactor units are in “cold shutdown” state. Block No. 5 is on standby, the reactor plant is in a “hot shutdown” stateRogov said.
He stressed that the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is not being evacuated, its employees are doing everything necessary to ensure nuclear safety.
