The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, this Saturday stressed the British royal family’s attachment to Portugal and refused to speak again about the political crisis in Portugal and the disagreement with António Costa.
“This is not the stage of a commentator,” the head of state said.
“I think I made what I wanted to say very clear,” the head of state said, referring to a speech he gave on Thursday in which he strongly criticized the prime minister’s decision to keep Joao Galamba as minister of infrastructure.
The President of the Republic traveled to the United Kingdom this Friday to attend the coronation of King Carlos III, which took place this Saturday in London.
