Cabo Verde Airlines will resume connecting flights between the cities of Praia and Bissau in July, the CEO of the company that operates Oswaldo Vieira Airport in the Guinean capital told Lusa on Monday.
Aliou Soares Kassama, spokesman for Menzies Aviation Bissau, which operates the only international airport in Guinea-Bissau, announced the resumption of flights by the Cape Verdean company in July, ten years after they had been suspended.
Last week, Kassama met with a Cape Verdean delegation that included the country’s ambassador, Camilo Leitão da Graça, and the commercial and operating director of the company, also known as TACV (Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde).
“The meeting served to agree on the details. In July, Cabo Verde Airlines will resume flights to Bissau,” Soares Cassama assured Aliu, adding that the company will have flights to Lisbon, Paris, Brazil and the United States of America.
The Guinean official noted that with the resumption of flights by Cape Verde, Oswaldo Vieira Airport in Bissau will now operate 16 weekly flights offered by two Portuguese companies (TAP and EuroAtlantic), RAM (Royal Air Maroc), Air Senegal, Air. Côte d’Ivoire and Asci.
