Education Minister Joao Costa said on Tuesday that the government’s charter for the recruitment of teaching staff, unveiled by the President of the Republic, would meet “a 50 per cent reduction in the precariousness of the profession.”
According to Joao Costa, this new diploma will also make it possible to “settle teachers in co-educational schools” rather than in regions, which will give more stability to schools and teachers. The Minister of Education announced that from 2024, 20 thousand vacancies will be opened for hiring teachers in educational institutions for this purpose.
For João Costa, this new law “in addition to fulfilling the two main aspects of government” is also “an important step towards making careers more attractive.”
