Russia plans to withdraw more than 3,000 workers from the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine. According to Reuters, the governor of the Russian-controlled part of the region suspended the work of the plant.
“The Russian occupiers are proving their inability to ensure the operation of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, as there is currently a lack of qualified personnel,” the Ukrainian government said in a Telegram message, quoted by the agency.
According to Reuters, Ukraine is expected to launch a counter-offensive to push back Russian troops and retake the entire Zaporizhia region.
Russian troops seized the Zaporozhye power plant days after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
