A man was arrested for hitting a PSP agent after he was stopped during a surveillance Tuesday evening on Estrada da Circunvalação in Porto.
The 24-year-old man tried to escape after the police asked the driver to stop the car. Instead of following the order of the police, the detainee tried to run at high speed and eventually ran into a policeman.
After the police took action, the man went to the Coruheira police station, where he was arrested at 23:20. PSP determined that the man did not have a driver’s license and the car did not have insurance or a vehicle inspection.
The injuries sustained by the downed policeman, taken to the hospital, do not allow him to carry out his professional activities.
