In the annual travel review, which analyzes typical spending in 35 European cities, Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, performed best value for money. The barometer rating is the result of an analysis of 12 typical travel expenses, including a dinner for two with wine and drinks, two nights in a three-star hotel, sightseeing, and city transportation.
According to the site, prices have risen by just 2% compared to last year, which guarantees the Portuguese capital a place at the top of the rankings. The city of Porto ranks sixth.
This is the second time that a Western European city has beaten an Eastern European city to take the top spot in the rankings.
