The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that it had mobilized a fighter jet to prevent two NATO patrol aircraft, French and German, from entering the country’s airspace. Reuters.
“Two air targets were detected approaching the state border of Russia,” the report says.
According to the ministry, two planes were flying over the Baltic Sea towards Russia. According to Russia, the flights were carried out by a German P-3C patrol aircraft and a French Atlantic-2 maritime patrol aircraft.
“The Su-27 fighter of the Baltic Fleet Air Force was used to identify targets and prevent violation of the Russian border,” the Russian ministry concluded.
