Several dozen police officers spontaneously gathered this Thursday near the PSP National Directorate and the Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis) in solidarity with the protests for better wages and working conditions.
At the Directorate’s headquarters in Penha de France in Lisbon, many appeared in uniform outside the building after a meeting between national director José Barros Correia and the main unions: the Professional Police Association (ASPP-PSP), the Syndicato of Professional Police (SPP), the National Police Union ( Sinapol), the Independent Police Union (SIAP), the National Union of Police (SNOP) and the National Union of PSP Chiefs (SNCC).
Also in Kometlis in Moskavid, many police officers appeared on the street in uniform, taking advantage of the lunch break to show support for the security forces’ call for higher wages and better working conditions.
