All set: Saudade Festival kicks off in Fatima today

The great day and the unprecedented event of this summer have arrived. The first Saudade festival will begin this Thursday afternoon at the helipad of the Fatima Volunteer Firefighters. National artists and various cultural events will be performed on the stage located next to the highway exit.

This Thursday Marisa, Germán Jose and Mikael Carreira will perform. FridayHeadlining the show will be Father Borg, Joana Amendoeira and Tony Carreira, who will close the show.

Expectations are high and all the conditions for a successful event have been created for all event organizers.

“It has everything to be a success. We are in a place that is very dear to all Portuguese and our expats scattered around the world. We thank Medialivre for choosing our municipality to host this event,” says Luis Miguel Albuquerque. “This festival is also a way to thank expats for their love and help to the firefighters. Our corporation is grateful to them,” says Amorim Gonçalves, president of the board of the Volunteer Firefighters of Fátima, owner of the premises where the festival is held.

“Very good place for entertainment”

The entire structure installed on the helipad territory, which will be used for the festival, was checked by the competent authorities and organizations this Wednesday. Safety is guaranteed, as are all the necessary and mandatory logistics. A specialized company was hired to ensure the safety of festival visitors. The venue will have 25 fire extinguishers, 125 bathrooms for the public and ten dressing rooms for the artists participating in the program. Street vendors have also set up shop in the space and they like the way it has been organized. “We are ready to work. It is a very good place for entertainment and communication,” he said on Wednesday. CM Helena Banza, who, along with her partner Fernando Pereira, uses an electric vehicle to sell pancakes. The couple is betting on the “surprise factor” of the event.

Tickets for the Saudade Festival can be purchased at the box office located at the venue, which is open this Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 22:00. The box office located in Luís Condor Square in Fátima will also be open this Thursday from 9:00 to 13:00. Tickets can also be purchased on the website blueticket.meo.pt and at the usual locations: Meo, Fnac, Worten and El Corte Inglés stores).
