This Thursday afternoon, two young people had to be taken out of the sea on the Azurara beach in Vila do Conde. They encountered difficulties in the water and could no longer independently return to the sand.
The Povoa de Varzim Maritime Police and firefighters were called shortly after 18:00. When they arrived at the scene, the young people had already been rescued after conducting an on-site inspection.
An Air Force helicopter, which was searching for another missing teenager in Matosinhos, was sent to the incident, but the situation was quickly resolved.
The Maritime Authority has already issued a warning urging people to stay away from the sea area as the beaches are not yet under surveillance. Also, due to storms, the morphology of the sands changes and dangerous situations can arise.
