The film is inspired by the true story of a 175 kg black bear who died in December 1985 after eating a duffel bag full of cocaine. The cocaine was dropped from the smuggler’s plane because it was too heavily loaded. The pilot eventually jumped out of the car, but then died due to a faulty parachute.
