Euskaraz irakurri: Maitaldiaren dantza, abian
The Biarritz Dance Festival Mother’s DayLe Temps d’aimer la danse, will take place mainly in the coastal town, between 4 and 16 September, although it will also reach 16 other towns, from Errenteria to Bokale and, to the east, to Atharratze.
The first show of the festival, “Cage2”, will take place this Wednesday at 9:00 pm in the Tanka hall of Donibane Lohizune, and is a co-production with the Ravel Festival and the National Stage of Aqutania Sud. The pianist Bertrand Chamayou and the choreographer Élodie Sicard pay tribute to the composer John Cage in the work by performing two piano pieces. Tickets are on sale at a price of 35 euros.
A total of 41 companies will participate in the main contemporary dance event in the Basque Country, including the ballets of Bern, Marseille and Monte Carlo, the national choreographic centres of Rennes, Caen and Nantes, the South Korean creator Sun-a Lee, Robinson Cassarino and Bruno Pradet. Without forgetting, of course, the Basque creators: Kukai, Bilaka, Dantzaz, Martin Harriague…
Kukai will present, in a summer atmosphere, Euskorleans (September 13, Biarritz), Bilaka will do the same with the creation Ilauna (September 13, Atabal de Biarritz) and Martin Harriague will present the novelty Crocodile with Emilie Leriche (7 September, Baiona).
