Roughly 20 years after Channel 4 made history by showing an autopsy, this much more intimate film follows Toni Crews, a 30-year-old mother who died of rare lacrimal cancer in 2020. The crews donated their body to medical science and gave permission to show it to the public to continue their work of raising awareness. Told in her own words (voice taken from Crewe’s diaries and letters), the film is about anatomy professor Claire Smith of Brighton and Sussex Medical School and her team dissecting Crewe’s body and determining the course of the illness from the start. diagnosis until her death four years later.
