Two teenagers become superheroes and protect Paris from the bad guys. Now, StudioCanal has released the first trailer for the popular superhero animated series Marvelous.
Anyone who occasionally views daytime animation for kids should already know them: Ladybug and Cat Noir, animated superheroes who have been protecting the city of Paris from bewitched villains for the fifth season. Actually, the first movie adventure based on the TV series Miraculous was supposed to be released in theaters in the summer of 2022. But the start date of the film based on the Franco-Korean series was postponed several times.
But now StudioCanal is getting down to business and has released the first trailer. Early glimpses show that the film has been given a somewhat lively animation style for a movie, and that the story goes back to the origins of a story about a smart protagonist.
What’s the matter?
A clumsy teenager, Marinette struggles to cope with everyday school life in Paris. The highlights of her day are the moments when she sees her crush Adrian. When Marinette finds the “Miracle” one day, she miraculously transforms into the superheroine Ladybug. Ladybug must rein in her newfound superpowers, but help comes from the charismatic superhero Cat Noir. What Marinette doesn’t know: Adrien is hiding behind the Chat Noir mask! When Paris is threatened by a vile mega-villain with dark magic, Ladybug and Chat Noir must join forces. To save the city, the two embark on a daring mission, and an unforgettable adventure begins from the city’s catacombs to the breathtaking heights of the Eiffel Tower…
The film, directed by the creator of the series Jeremy Zag, is intended to be not only a kind of prequel, but also a musical. In the German version, Sarah Engels and Mike Singer voice the two superheroes with their singing voices.
Miraculous: Ladybug and Chat Noir – Movie opens July 6, 2023 in cinemas in Switzerland and Germany.
