The new year is starting… spooky. In a new film from the studio that created Happy Death Day and The Purge, a doll programmed for friendship takes its job of protecting too seriously.

Programmed for friendship, M3GAN is an unusual toy designed to be a child’s best friend and parent’s ally. When robotics expert Gemma (Allison Williams) unexpectedly becomes her orphaned niece’s guardian, she takes a prototype high-tech doll home with her. An important decision, because M3GAN develops an almost murderous defensive instinct.
That the doll takes her work so seriously, Gemma could not have imagined when she gave it to her niece. After all, she works for a toy company and programmed the realistic doll herself. But AI-powered M3GAN takes her role as best friend deadly seriously.
M3GAN will be released in cinemas in Switzerland and Germany on January 5, 2022.
