Movie hit “National Treasure” goes to series – These are the first 2 episodes of “National Treasure: The Edge of History”

Nicolas Cage once roamed the world in search of great treasures. Now the idea of the film “National Treasure” is framed and launched into the series. We watched the first episodes.

What is this about?

Young Jess (Lizette Olivera) shares an apartment with her buddies, has a talent for solving puzzles, and dreams of using her skills in the FBI. When she returns the antiques she found to old man Peter Sadusky (Harvey Keitel), he sends her on a treasure hunt. You have to solve tricky puzzles that bring Jess closer to the history of her own family and have a connection with her deceased parents. She also soon discovers that the ruthless and dangerous treasure hunter Billy (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is on her trail and will not be afraid to put Jess’ friends at risk to achieve her goal.

In 2004 Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger and Justin Bartha were chasing national treasure after the giant treasure and ensured the film’s success. The sequel was to be followed by Helen Mirren and Ed Harris. National Treasure: Book of Secrets it went back into caves, pits, behind secret doors and hidden corners. Then everything ended in the field, the third part did not pass through the production plants, but could still come in 2024. In order to shorten the time a little, but above all, to make some money again on a well-known name, a series has now been released. National Treasure: Edge of History now entering its first season, the first episode of Harvey Keitel has a guest star as well as photos of Justin Bartha expected to appear later in the series. But you won’t find Nicolas Cage (in the first few episodes you see).

Lisette Olivera took on the lead role and within minutes of acting made a strong and compelling impression. As is often the case, the group of friends consists of a best friend and two buddies, one of whom has more than a friendship with Jess. As the antagonist, we see the bleached and headstrong Catherine Zeta-Jones, who hopefully has more to offer as the story progresses than just annoyed looks at the camera.

In the first series, young people are drawn into adventures that offer different storylines. The focus, of course, is the big treasure hunt and the race against evil, while the side story investigates the death of a famous character. This offers many inconsistencies and allows the young FBI agent to conduct his own investigation.

We expected that this story would of course go around the country, similar to the films of that time, and therefore, in the next few series, we should visit many famous places and see objects of historical value. We will soon find out if it will go as smoothly as in the movies. It happens in National Treasure: Edge of History so regularly something that can cheer and puzzle.

Summary of the first two episodes

The first two episodes seen offer a lively treasure hunt with likable characters who, however, seem to find solutions to many puzzles that fall easily into their hands. It was already a topic of discussion at the time national treasure, as centuries-old mysteries were solved in seconds. Offers ten episodes National Treasure: Edge of History and after a good start we are now in the middle of a great adventure. Who to believe, what else is Catherine Zeta-Jones in, are we getting a cameo from Nicolas Cage? So far I like it and I’m happy to continue in the same style.

National Treasure: Edge of History will be available exclusively on Disney+ on December 14, 2022. You start with a double episode, then the episodes follow on a weekly basis.
