An ITV documentary gives insight into Chris Kamara’s experience with Apraxia of Speech (AOS).

The former footballer and popular TV presenter began to show symptoms of the disease in March 2020, but he was not diagnosed until almost two years later.

Camara left his role in the football show Sky Sports football saturday at the end of last season due to condition – that’s to be expected from his documentation.

ITV’s summary states that the documentary will “see the famous TV presenter on a very personal journey as he tries to gain a deeper understanding of his recent diagnosis”.

Kamara gives viewers a glimpse into his life with AOS from the very beginning of his journey with a speech disorder.

ITV adds: “From his initial denials to his diagnosis, and now to his disciplined way of managing his therapy, the documentary will follow Cammy as he seeks expert advice and meets other people with AOS who also share them. Find your way through this rare disease. ”

Kamara said, “This documentary is very personal to me. I really want people to know about speech apraxia/dyspraxia. Little is known about what makes diagnosis so difficult.

“I hope my story will raise awareness and also help people who may also be living with this disease by showing them that there are ways to cope with it and still live fulfilling lives.”

What did Chris Kamara say about apraxia?

He said: “My apraxia because it varies from person to person, when it’s bad, it stops the signals from this brain going to the mouth, so it slows them down.

According to the National Institute of Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, there are several possible symptoms of AOS:

• Make mistakes in tone, intonation, or rhythm
