“Comedy can be very revealing because you expose yourself, but that’s the position I want to be in. I like being on TV, I like being recognized.
“I once met Pierce Brosnan at an event and he just looked at me and smiled and said cool James Bond said cool to me on the way to the bathroom! I like it!”
He insists that he continues to lead a perfectly normal life – he lives in north London with his girlfriend, actress Sophie Wise, and their dog Buffy – and that fame has not yet become a straitjacket.
