The show is based on the Dutch TV series Traitorswhere strangers gather at the castle to play the glorious game of Wink Murder in a devious attempt to win a big cash prize.
A game about traitors whose job it is to deceive the “faithful”. Every night, shrouded in a veil of darkness, the traitors gather to discuss which of the believers they will “kill” next.

What does a winner do Traitors receive?
The prize money is around £120,000, the highest prize for a BBC show in a long time.
If the believers win, they seem ready to split the money among themselves. However, if one or more traitors win, they can keep the money.
Where Traitors removed?
The series was filmed at Ardross Castle in Alness, north of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.
Built in the 19th century in the style of the Scottish nobility, it has regular gardens and 100 acres of parkland on the banks of the River Alness.
Once the home of the 1st Duke of Sutherland, it was later sold to Sir Alexander Matheson who had the building remodeled to form the current castle.
Since 1983, it has been owned by the MacTaggart family, who have renovated and restored the castle and grounds, and rented them out for weddings and corporate events.
