Gladiators first broadcast on the BBC in 1992 and ended in 2000.

The show pitted four contestants against the show’s “Gladiators”, a group of superhuman competitors, in a series of physically demanding challenges.

The competitors wanted to secure a place in the grand final and ultimately become champions of their series.

The show was originally hosted by Ulrika Jonsson along with John Fashanu and Jeremy Guscott.

Who will appear in the new season of Gladiators?

In the 2024 version GladiatorsIt will be hosted by father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh.

One of the most decorated judges in England, Mark Clattenburg, will be the chief judge who will ensure the integrity of the fight between participants and gladiators.

Who are the new gladiators?

Sixteen new gladiators will push a new group of competitors to their limits in the new season.

These include Legend, Fury and Giant.

A legend is medal-winning powerlifter Matt Morcia, who still trains up to six times a week in sports as well as bodybuilding.

“I trained like an animal before the show, but it wasn’t really necessary,” he said.

“I could spend the last two months eating donuts and playing Dungeons & Dragons and I would still be better than everyone else. It’s not for nothing that they call me a legend!

“I can only apologize for the irreparable damage I will cause to my competitors. It’s actually a lie, I’m not sorry at all. I look forward to.”

Fury is Jodie Ounsley, who currently plays rugby for the Exeter Chiefs women’s team and has represented England in the rugby sevens tournament. As well as being a British Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion and a five-time world coal hauling champion, she also won the 2020 Deaf Athlete of the Year title.

She is described as having “strength and a passion for competition.” Gladiators it’s in her blood – her father was on the show in 2008.

She said, “Look Gladiators As a child, I was always in awe of their strength and power, and now I am one of them! I hope competitors are ready to feel the wrath.”

The Giant is Jamie Christian Johal, a 1.90m tall former firefighter turned bodybuilder. Once the show starts, viewers shouldn’t be fooled by his “big friendly giant” appearance.

“I feel like everything in life led me here,” he said.

“I am honored to be a part of this legendary show that I grew up watching. I use my giant size and personality to help the participants prepare better!”
