The New Year usually brings with it a new generation of entrepreneurs who are eagerly awaiting their big moment in the boardroom and the chance to become Lord Sugar’s next apprentice.
Long-running BBC show Trainee has become an important part of the start of the television year, which in recent years has begun in January.
But he was not on the program this month despite the confirmation of an 18th season.

The winning candidate will reportedly receive an investment of up to £250,000 and form a 50:50 partnership with Lord Sugar.
When will it start in 2024 and why was it postponed?
But it’s unclear when the show will air this year.
It is believed the series will begin production in February, following the second series of the Bafta-winning show. Traitors completed its run this month.
