Last year, Artium bought 26 works for its collection

In 2023, the Artium Museum of Vitoria acquired a total of 26 works of art within the line of acquisitions with which the museum incorporates artists who participate in its exhibition program into its collection, including several by Rafael Lafuente from Vitoria.

The list of authors includes the names of Carolina Caycedo, Patricia Dauder, Alejandro Garmendia, Edurne Herrán, Rosalind Nashashibi and Julia Spinola.

The acquisition of a set of pieces by Rafael Lafuente (Vitoria, 1936-2005) stands out, to whom the museum dedicated the exhibition ‘Konposaketak/Compositions’. These are two paintings from 1967 and 1970 that show his transition from figuration to geometry, and a group of 16 drawings made in the second half of the 1970s.

Likewise, the museum also received the donation of eleven pieces.
