Euskaraz irakurri: Bilboko Koral Elkarteak Zubiaurreren “The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ” recordatu eta argitaratu du
The Bilbao Choral Society has presented the album The Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ by the composer Valentín María Zubiaurre (Garai, February 14, 1837 – Madrid, January 13, 1914) in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Basque Government.
This oratorio, never before recorded or performed in public, was composed by Zubiaurre in 1874. The recording was conducted by Enrique Azurza, and features the participation of artists such as Ana Otxoa (soprano), Beñat Egiarte (tenor), Julen García ( baritone), Juan Laborería (baritone), Alberto Sáez Puente (pianist and organist) and Ander Marzana (pianist).
Likewise, the cover design is the work of the artist Manu Muniategiandikoetxea.
The oratorio composed by Zubiaurre consists of nine movements, and can be heard on the Spotify platform.
