Euskaraz irakurri: “Nina” Andrea Jaurrietaren filmak itxiko du Giza Eskubideen Zinemaldia
The twenty-first edition of Film and Human Rights Festival of San Sebastián will begin next Friday, April 12, and will cover for eight days, through 45 films, issues about mental health, the situation in Palestine, migrations, the future of employment, the war in Ukraine, human rights sexual violence and many other violations of human rights.
The film in charge of starting the festival will be The jumpby Benito Zambrano, which can be seen during an opening ceremony in which the filmmaker Fernando León de Aranoa (Family, Neighborhood, Mondays in the sun, The good boss…) will receive this edition’s special award as a tribute to his entire career.
In total, 45 films will be screened, 26 feature films and 19 short films, and the person in charge of closing the festival on April 19, at the closing gala, will be Little girl, a feature film by Andrea Jaurrieta premiered at the last Malaga Festival. In addition to Little girlyou can see the empty productions Indarkeriaren oi(h)artzunak (Amaia Merino, Ander Iriarte) and Death in Amara (Aitor González de Langarica, out of competition) in the Official Section of feature films and short films Anteparaiso (Koldo Almandoz), Europe (Ekain Irigoien), The illustrated woman (Isabel Herguera) and Puzzleak (Bortxaketaren jauregia) (Kote Camacho) in its corresponding competition section.
In addition, there will be a special screening of the film lights in shadow, by Ione Atenea, at the Teatro Principal.
The festival will award three awards, as usual: the audience award for best feature film, the young jury award for best short film and the Amnesty International award.
In addition to the screenings of 45 films, the Film and Human Rights Festival has also organized sessions for schoolchildren, exhibitions, talks, round tables and a short film session.
Tickets (€5) and invitations for the free sessions can be purchased starting this Friday, April 5, starting at 11:30 a.m. at the ticket offices of the Principal and Victoria Eugenia theaters and online.
