“Bar Gloria” and “Waiting for the Deluge”, the most borrowed books in the CAV libraries

The Basque Public Reading Network made 2,740,425 loans, 2,618,524 of which were paper books. The network brings together a total of 976,465 people, and last year more than 42,000 registered.

In Basque, the most borrowed book in 2023 was the novel Gloria Barby Nerea Ibarzabal, and then Eraikuntzarako materiala (Eider Rodriguez) and Azken etxea (Arantxa Urretabizkaia). Regarding titles in Spanish, the most in demand were Waiting for the flood (Dolores Redondo), The face thief (Ibon Martin) and The crystal cuckoo (Javier Castillo).

Currently, the Basque Public Reading Network is made up of 297 libraries located in 198 municipalities and brings together 6,899,917 copies.

The digital library of Euskadi, eLiburutegia, for its part, made 121,901 loans last year; Currently, there are 65,686 people registered in eLiburutegia.
