Musikaste proposes thirteen concerts and promotes dance

The Errenteria Basque Music Week, Musikastewill celebrate its 52nd edition starting next Friday in the year in which the organizing entity, the Eresbil Foundation, celebrates its golden anniversary, with a program that includes 13 concerts and in which dance will once again be relevant.

In total, there will be nine days starting this Friday, May 17, divided into seven recitals. The first show will be Panpin Orkestrathe experimental and contemporary music of the Errenteria composer Idoia Hernández, Hatxein collaboration with Herri Arte Eskola.

The next day it will be the turn of Kukai Dantza Taldea who comes with the proposal Txalapartaa bet by choreographer Jesús Rubio Gamo under the artistic direction of Jon Maya.

In addition, pianist Ignacio Arakistain will also perform at the festival with the Andra Mari choir, Soinuzko Begiradak (Zukan Trio, and the dancer Miren Lizeaga), the cellist Pavel Gomziakov and the pianist Josu Okiñena, and the Bihotz Alai choirs, from Algorta, the recently created Baiona Euskal Herriko Abesbatza, the Easo Emakumeen Abesbatza from San Sebastian and the Landarbaso choir from Errenteria.

Musikaste will also pay tribute to Allan Griffin, the Irish musician based in San Sebastián and founder of the group Alboka who contributed to the recovery of traditional music.

Musikaste will conclude on May 25, as is tradition, with a concert by Euskadiko Orkestra and the Andra Mari choir, who will offer works by Ramon Lazkano, Itziar Viloria and Pascual Aldave.
