Euskal Herriko Musika Bulegoa held its annual awards ceremony this afternoon at the Zentral hall in Pamplona, which began eight years ago. In front of a hundred guests, the winners collected their awards: Bas(h)oan; BilbaoSinfonietta; Ibil Bedi; Izaro; Janus Lester; Rüdiger; Zetak, Maite Arroitajauregi and Aranzazu Calleja, creators of the soundtrack of the film “Irati”; Euskal Barrokensemble (Etxepare Musika Saria); Gor Diskak (EHMBE Honorary Award) and ESAS (Public Award).

With the exception of those awarded with the honorary prize and the one awarded by popular vote, the artists and groups recognized with the prize will receive 2,000 euros and a sculpture designed by the artist Fernando Mikelarena.

A jury made up of eight people has been in charge of deciding among 120 proposals who have been awarded: the journalist Fernando Garayoa, the pianist and composer Idoia Hernández, the programmer Iñaki Lazkano, the head of the Forbbiden Colors label Irene Prieto, the sound engineer Koldo Sagastume, the musicologist Marina Hervás, the musician Olatz Salvador and the director of the Aitzina Folk festival and musician Patxi Villén.

The winner of the Etxepare Musika Saria award has been elucidated by the Etxepare Institutua itself, which has decided to award it to Euskal Barrokensamble for “cultivating its own style in the field of early music and, in addition to rooting it with Basque and Basque culture, combining it with other languages and cultures of the world”.

The honorary award, for its part, is awarded by the board of directors of Euskal Herriko Musika Bulegoa, which this year has recognized the Navarrese record label Gor Diskak, which closed in 2023 after having released more than 300 albums by Berri Txarrak, Exkixu, His Ta Gar, Ken Zazpi…

The main novelty of this edition has been the Audience Award. Music lovers have been able to vote for their favorite artist or musical project through an application. Finally, the most voted among fifty proposals was ESAS, Network of Women Composers and Artists.

During the gala, which closed with a Janus Lester concert, Ibil Bedi, Izaro and Rüdiger performed.
