Euskaraz irakurri: Urmugaren Urtanta: mendiak, musika eta Nestor Basterretxearen ondarea eskutik hartuta
Urmuga, a festival that unites mountains and music, began its journey in 2020: since then, every two years, it crosses Euskal Herria from west to east, “bringing music and the love of nature to the mountain peaks, villages and valleys.” . In the years in which the great Urmuga event is not celebrated, it is organized Urtanta from Urmuga, shorter. In 2022, Urtanta was dedicated to Elkano’s trip around the world, and this year will serve to remember the figure of Néstor Basterretxea, born one hundred years ago.
On the 22nd, 23rd, 25th and 28th, different Basque musicians and artists will accompany the Et Incarnatus orchestra in Hondarribia, the Arnatzazu basilica, Bakio and Gaintza.
During the first two appointments, a new show about Basterretxea will be performed. Asisko Urmeneta has written six new compositions by Jon Esnaola in a script, which will be performed in opera format by the Orfeón Donostiarra, Maika Etxekopar, the Et Incarnatus orchestra, the txistulari Iñaki Palacios and the actor Titika Rekalt.
On July 25 and 28 in Bakio and Gaintza, for its part, the Et Incarnatus orchestra will be accompanied by Eñaut Elorrieta, Anje Duhalde, Idoia Asurmendi, Olaia Inziarte and Xabier Leturia.
You can get to the concerts by following mountain routes, and on July 1 the possibility of making financial contributions to the project will open on the website.
