The Bilbao International Festival of Letters, Gutun Zuria, celebrates from today, March 28, its fifteenth edition. This year, some thirty writers will participate in the meeting, including Manuel Rivas, Gonçalo Tavares, Leire Bilbao, Eider Rodriguez, Anjel Lertxundi and Adan Kovacsics.
Lertxundi, awarded before the festival with one of the BBK Gutun Zuria Bilbao honor prizes (the other was for the Mexican author Cristina Rivera Garza), will be the protagonist of the first session of the festival, this Tuesday, March 28, together with the writer and translator Chilean Adan Kovacsics.
On the 29th, the main meeting will be the Galician writer Manuel Rivas and the Portuguese Gonçalo Tavares; on March 30, the conversation between Uxue Apaolaza and the Catalan Irene Pujadas stands out; on March 31 Juan Pablo Villalobos and Elvira Navarro will talk about how the arrival of migrant communities changes cities and the world; and on April 1 Bob Pop will chat with the Galician writer and architect Alba Carballal.
This year’s edition will be dedicated to showing how writing, editing and reading are part of the same process, and, in addition to meetings between writers, it will host workshops, an audiovisual show, meetings with schoolchildren, presentations and the installation desoiderataby Mama Crea.
