After a recommendation of 18 for “Bones and All”: these films also received an “Over 18” rating in Switzerland.

It is not often that a film is given an adult rating in Switzerland. We have selected for you “bad films” in the database of the Commission for the Protection of Youth.

In September 2012, the Swiss Commission for the Protection of Minors in Film was established. It recommends an age of access for public screenings of films and audiovisual media such as DVD and Blu-ray for cantons, sectors, parents, teachers and professionals. As we reported, the commission for a cannibal love story Bones and all recommendation from 18 years of age. However, the entry age is “from 16”. As stated on the Commission’s website:

In addition to the approved age for admission to public screenings, the Commission may also recommend a higher age it considers appropriate for viewing a film (recommended age). Although the entry age is legally binding, the recommended age is primarily a guideline for parents, professionals, and teachers.

This is how 16 year olds become Bones and all can be seen in the movies. Even 14-year-olds can watch the bloody love story starring Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell on the big screen – if accompanied. As the Commission writes: Children and teenagers can watch films one age category higher for a maximum of two years if they visit the cinema accompanied by a person with parental responsibility in accordance with Article 296 et seq. of the LGB.

It is rare for a film to receive an “over 18” rating in Switzerland. We searched the Commission’s database and found only 16 films out of 4,699 submissions since November 2012 with a clearance age of 18+. So these films can only be watched by people of legal age. What is striking about the films is that not only violence is critically examined, but also explicit sex, as, for example, in the works of Gaspard Noes. loveBerlinale winner Fuck no luck or crazy porn and drama porn actresses pleasure demonstrate.

As already mentioned, in addition to the entry age, there is also a recommended age that cinemas are not required to adhere to. Over the past ten years, the Commission has issued 18 issues 19 times. Next on Bones and all you can also find Hollywood productions like Logan, Hunting as well as halloween kills. in Logan there is even a reason for the release:

The entire film is dominated by brutal action scenes and voyeuristic bloodlust (severed heads, extensive blood spatter), often at breakneck speed, but sometimes in slow motion. Since there is neither a compelling plot nor any other breaks, the film should be considered a borderline case for the 16+ classification, as expressed in the 18+ recommendation.

What Logan The lack of a compelling story is bullshit in our opinion, but let’s not get too upset about the rationale behind this release. Because there is always something seductive/forbidden in the rating of 18, and this makes the film a little more interesting. By the way, all the films listed below had an entry age of “16+”.
