alaia martin has taken a giant step towards the final of the Bertsolaris Championship by winning the semifinal that was played this Saturday afternoon in Amurrio. Martin, who has scored the highest in each and every one of the exercises, has added 676 points. The Bañueta de Amurrio sports center has hosted the first session of the second round of the semifinals and in which up to 1,250 fans have gathered.
Today’s session also highlighted the work of Aitor Bizkarra who came in second with 651.5 points. In third and fourth position they have tied Oihana Iguaran and Onintza Enbeita (632.5). Agin Laburu was fifth (624 points) and sixth Miren Artetxe (595.5). Beñat Vidal has been in charge of putting the songs and guiding the recital.
The jury was made up of Ainhoa Sarasua Lascaray, Aitor Jimenez Tolosana, Amaia Otxotorena Gamio, Iñaki Aurrekoetxea Arkotxa, Mirari Azula Aurrekoetxea, Nerea Bruño Artazkoz and Zigor Leunda Eizmendi. Joxe Mari Altuna Berridi and Itziar Basterretxea Olarreaga have been the secretaries.
The points obtained by the bertsolaris throughout the three semifinals of the second round will be added to the scores obtained in the first round of the semifinals, so that the seven bertsolaris with the highest score at the end of all these sessions will pass to the great final of Pamplona; there, the current champion, Maialen Lujanbio, will complete the poster.
Therefore, after today’s session, Alaia Martin ranks first in the semifinals with 1,405.5 points, Aitor Bizkarra is second with 1,329 points, Oihana Iguaran third with 1,321, Agin Laburu fourth (1,301), Onintza Enbeita fifth (1,272), Miren Artetxe sixth (1,240) and Aitor Mendiluze seventh, with 726.5 points.
