Bullitt is one of the most famous Steve McQueen movies, mostly because of the legendary car chase. Cop Frank Bullitt is now ready to go full throttle again in a new movie.
Although Steven Spielberg turns 76 in December, the multiple Oscar winner is far from considering retirement. His semi-autobiographical drama Fabelmans celebrated its world premiere in September and is considered a big Oscar favorite. A possible fourth Oscar shouldn’t mean the end of his career. After that, the action should continue.
According to Deadline, Spielberg has been working on a new movie about cop Frank Bullitt for two years now. This made his first and last appearance in the action classic Bullitt, in which Steve McQueen played a role. The film is best known for its multi-minute, dizzying chase through San Francisco, driven by the great car fan McQueen himself. In the film, directed by Peter Yates, Lieutenant Frank Bullitt is assigned to protect a mob witness. But Bullitt quickly gets on the trail of a conspiracy and wants to arrest the masterminds.
According to the report, Spielberg’s project is not meant to be a remake of the 1968 film, but to tell a new story starring Frank Bullitt. Bradley Cooper (Hangover, A star is born) are played out. Josh Singer (English)spotlight, Mail) responsible.
