PCP says AD candidate wants to go back ‘almost to the time of the dinosaurs’

This Friday, the secretary general of the PCP ridiculed the position of the head of the list of the Democratic Alliance (AD) Santarem Eduardo Oliveira y Sousa on the issue of climate change, accusing him of wanting to return “to the times of the dinosaurs”.

“I have accused PSD, CDS, Chega and IL of wanting to go back to 2011 and apparently this AD candidate wants to go back to a time before climate change. That’s why we think our project will move forward. Apparently, not this person, it’s the other way around, it’s a very long time ago… almost in the time of the dinosaurs,” joked Paulo Raimundo.

Speaking on the sidelines of the CDU (United Democratic Coalition, PCP and PEV) campaign at the gates of the aviation industry park in Évora, the communist leader went further and emphasized that even in the time of the dinosaurs there were problems with climate change.

“As we know, there was also a climate change problem with dinosaurs. It was his reaction, that’s all. Trump thinks the same thing, I think,” he said, drawing laughter from those around him, summing up: “These people, when they have nothing to offer, and they have nothing to solve people’s problems, they want to go back in time, so far back, so far back to a time before climate change. “

The head of the AD list in Santarem said on Thursday that Portugal was losing investment for “false climate reasons”, arguing that “extremes have always existed” and warned that farmers were already talking about organizing armed groups in the face of “looting in the fields”.

Speaking at a rally in Ourem, former president of the Confederation of Farmers of Portugal (CAP), Eduardo Oliveira e Sousa, said that “the forest is not just a theme park or a carbon store, it is an economy.”

“They blindly ban new plantations based on far-left ideology, driven by a disguised fight against wealth creation by deceiving people with false reasons related to climate or territorial disorder,” he criticized.
