Paulo Portas warns that the bill is “not yet passed” and calls for a useful vote in AD

Former CDS-PP president Paulo Portas warned on Tuesday that the election was “not yet decided” and urged undecided voters who want to change the government to focus their votes on the Democratic Alliance.

At an AD rally in Caldas da Rainha, in front of about 2,500 people, Paulo Portas asked for help “to those who have not yet decided” and sharply attacked the PS and Chega, without once naming the party leader. Andre Ventura.

“There are only a few days left until a very important election in which the Portuguese, if they want, will say that they are tired of the party state and that they defend and want rotating democracy,” he said.

Paulo Portas said he supported the idea he floated at the AD convention in January that the expected legislative elections on March 10 had not yet been determined.

“They are not yet resolved, we have made progress, but not enough to be sure that Pedro Nuno Santos will not become prime minister,” he warned.

Using a popular expression, Paulo Portas argued that “what the AD needs to come first, and what the AD needs to have a lot of power, is that the AD needs to have enough strength to have predictability and stability in its management.”

The phrase prompted some at the dinner to shout “majority, majority”, prompting the former deputy prime minister to call for calm.

“No one here talked about the majority or euphoria, but about the conviction of people who doubt. Be careful: don’t go to bed on Saturday thinking this sad PS cycle will end and don’t want to wake up on Monday. with Pedro Nuno Santos as first minister and with a contraption on the way, because instead of voting for AD, they dispersed their votes,” he warned.
