Ventura says ‘anyone still thinking about voting PS should take medication’

Chegi President Andre Ventura said on Wednesday evening that he saw “no reason” for voters to vote for the PS on Sunday and suggested that anyone thinking about it “should take medicine.”

“Anyone who is still thinking about voting for the PS needs to take medicine because things are not going well,” Andre Ventura said at a rally in Ollhan (Faro district) attended by the leader of the Spanish Vox party.

Following the supporter’s comment, the Chegi leader said he had “the explanation he was looking for”, noting that “a few months ago there was news that said 94% of hospitals were out of medicine” and that this could be “an explanation for that so many people vote for PS.”

“You watch the news tomorrow, Andre Ventura attacks the mentally ill. Commentators talk about this and say it’s a shame. Ana Gomes will say that this should already be banned, Marques Mendes will say that I told you so, and of course… I don’t know if I’ll say this now or not, but Marcelo Rebelo de Souza will say that we have to find out, we need to know if this is true,” he said.

Andre Ventura also said he was trying to understand why people voted for the PS and couldn’t, calling the socialist government a “disappointment” and criticizing the difference between the amounts budgeted for each area and what was delivered.

“I just don’t see the reason. I thought that only those who cling to…” would vote for the PS, he said, then paused and concluded after another speech from the audience: “clinging to the pot” and “to state subsidies.”

And he considered that there was “no other reason” to vote for those who left “the country in this state.”

“PS is a scam and a fraud,” he criticized.

President Chegi also said that if he wins the election, the Brazilian President “will not enter Portugal” for the April 25 celebrations, while Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez “will only enter if necessary.”

However, it is planned that the heads of state of Portuguese-speaking African countries, which does not include the Brazilian president, will be invited to the 50th anniversary ceremonies on April 25. Lula da Silva spoke last year at the Assembly of the Republic at a ceremony on April 25.

Noting that if he became prime minister, his government would “not allow all these corrupt foreigners to enter” Portugal, he left a warning: “Of all those planning to come on April 25, I would advise caution when purchasing tours. “

“I’m not kidding, they really won’t pass, and I guarantee that if he becomes prime minister, Mr. Lula da Silva will remain at the airport,” he said, noting that “if he insists, he will go.” to jail, but he already knows that won’t be big news either.”

In his 30-minute speech, leader Chegi once again commented on the entry of former PSD leader Rui Rio into the AD campaign, considering that Luis Montenegro and his predecessor are “weak in corruption and the pillars of the PS.”

Soon after, Andre Ventura countered that Chega was “the only opposition to the PS.”

President Chegi also said Lisbon would experience “the biggest earthquake in European politics” on Sunday, something that did not happen in Madrid, the July election in which Vox lost MPs.

“All of Europe will hear that Portugal stands against corruption, no to cronyism, no to Brussels domination and no to international domination. We will take responsibility for our destiny,” he said.

Speaking earlier, parliamentary leader and director of the Faro district list, Pedro Pinto, agreed that “the PS does not deserve to win the election” and considered that the alternative was Chega “and no one else.”
