Rui Viana, one of two Portuguese men detained in Indonesia for cocaine trafficking, hid cocaine in liquid form inside shampoo bottles and admitted receiving six thousand euros in transport fees (money he had on him was confiscated), they told authorities on Sunday this Asian country.
The son of former footballer Rui Oscar (who represented Porto, Marítimo and Boavista) is called a “drug courier”.
The second Portuguese man detained, identified by the initials FMGS, was intended to be the recipient and was caught in Bali.
According to local press reports, citing authorities, the duo have been charged under a section of the law that provides for drug trafficking offenses with a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years in prison, avoiding a possible life sentence. or even the death penalty.
The progress of the investigation was reported by Kombes Hengki, director of the Metro Jaya Police Drug Investigation Unit.
He said the bottles would contain up to 2.5 liters of liquid cocaine: one bottle, called Continente, contains 977 ml, 1005.4 grams; a bottle labeled “Protex” with a volume of 09.3 ml or 729.7 grams of liquid cocaine; and a Tresemmé bottle of 912.4 ml or 938.7 grams.
The arrests, announced on the 17th, came after customs officials at Soekarno-Hatta Airport became suspicious of Rui Viana, who had traveled from Portugal (via Dubai).
“We are giving this suspect the role of a courier,” he said. After Rui Viana was detained, it turned out that he would go to Bali and an FMGS employee, who was also detained, would be waiting for him there.
The two Portuguese were shown to the media this Monday at a press conference. They have already been visited twice by the Portuguese Consulate in Jakarta.
